Since the 1930’s, Porsche has developed a globally respected brand known for speed, luxury and mechanical engineering of the highest levels. However, there is a dark part of the German company’s origin story that has largely been obscured by time and deliberate effort – that one of its cofounders and primary financial backers was Jewish and ousted by the Nazi government.

This is the story of Adolf Rosenberger and how he helped build one of Germany’s most famous car companies, only to be forced to flee to the United States after the Porsche firm became profitable.
